Off to Universal Studios to Support Rising Star, Maxim Knight.

On Jan 4th I had the opportunity to chaperone Maxim Knight, a child star, for a voice over in an untitled Steven Spielberg pilot for TNT. Maxim is the son of a good friend of mine. They moved here from Hawaii 3 years ago so Maxim could pursue an acting career. Maxim is 10 years old and has already been in many T.V. shows including, "Three Rivers", "Brothers and Sisters", and a recent Holiday special called "Our First Christmas."

We arrived at Universal Studios and had to wait for access into the premises. The voice over took place in the Alfred Hitchcock building. While we waited, I asked Maxim more about himself. Speaking with Maxim was like conversing with an adult. He loves reading and is already thinking ahead of what he wants to do when he is an adult. He even asked me what my goals and dreams were. I found him to be such a unique child, one who already thinks outside the box.

Maxim and I were then greeted by the producers of Dreamworks, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. To my surprise, Noah Wyle approached us. He is used to be the star in E.R. Noah shook my hand and gave his full attention to Maxim. He was genuinely interested in what Maxim had been up to. Noah plays Maxim's father in the new untitled series that takes place in Toronto.

We were escorted to the room for the voice over. Maxim was instructed when to speak and he had to replicate the same tone and emotion in his voice from watching his previous acting clip. He did an excellent job and the producers were impressed. I have had experiences in the past as an extra on movie sets and print, but never have experienced a voice over.

It looks like the pilot has been accepted and Maxim will soon be a regular on this new hit series. To follow this series stay tuned by visiting www.imdb.com
